The 16th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) saw a horrific collision between Multan Sultans’ skipper Mohammad Rizwan and pacer Shahnawaz Dahani. As both the players simultaneously went for a catch, they, unfortunately, ended up crashing into each other.
The incident transpired in the second over of Peshawar Zalmi’s innings. With Blessing Muzarabani given the ball, the fiery fast bowler deceived Kamran Akmal by bowling a short-pitch delivery.
As Akmal opted for a pull, he could not time the shot well and miscued the ball in the air. Both Rizwan and Shahnawaz Dahani went towards the ball, trying to catch it but suffered an awful collision while doing so.
While the wicket-keeper Rizwan put on a desperate smile, thinking that the catch had been dropped, Dahani somehow managed to grab the ball despite taking a spear from his captain.
“Keeper wants it, keeper wants it, keeper, oooh. Shahnawaz Dahani has taken the catch in the end. And man, that could have gone horribly wrong,” commentator Pommie Mbangwa was heard saying while commentating.

Multan Sultans claims their sixth consecutive win
As it happened, Multan Sultans put an easy win under their kitty and won their sixth match on the trot. Asked to bat first, Mohammad Rizwan and Co. had a 98-run opening partnership and gave a good start to their innings. Shan Masood acted as the aggressor, scoring 68 runs in 49 deliveries and Tim David’s powerful striking at number three landed them a total of 182 runs.

Peshawar Zalmi’s horrible show in the tournament continued and lost their top three batters inside the powerplay. The team could never recover from Muzarabani’s early burst and finished their innings at the score of 140, 42 runs shy of the opponent’s total.
