Former New Zealand cricketer and popular broadcaster Danny Morrison is known for grabbing the attention of cricket fans with his unusual and funny antics. On March 5 during the PSL game between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United, Morrison got into the limelight once again.
Danny Morrison is part of the broadcasting team in the ongoing Pakistan Super League along with Erin Holland, wife of Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting. Morrison during the pre-match chat show with Erin Holland suddenly lifted her in his lap.

While the video shared by Ben Cutting’s wife, Erin Holland went viral on social media, Danny Morrison was heavily trolled by the cricket fans. Morrison has been involved in such acts in the past as well. The former New Zealand cricketer had lifted a cheerleader on his shoulders during an Indian Premier League game. He had also grabbed well-known broadcaster Karishma Kotak by her waist.
Talking about the game, Quetta Gladiators posted a competitive total of 179 runs in their 20 overs as all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz anchored the innings and scored a crucial 52. Najibullah Zadran smashed 59 off 34 deliveries while Umar Akmal chipped in with a quick-fire 43. Left-arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi took 3 vital wickets while Faheem Ashraf too grabbed a couple of wickets.
In response to Quetta Gladiators’ total, Islamabad United’s batter Colin Munro played a stellar knock of 63 runs off just 29 deliveries while hitting four maximum. He got enough support from Azam Khan and Faheem Ashraf who scored 35 and 39 respectively.

Pacer Umaid Asif took 3 crucial wickets as the Quetta franchise tried restricting Islamabad United from chasing the total. However, the Islamabad batters chased down the total with 2 wickets remaining. This was Gladiators’ sixth loss in their 7 games after which they have been placed right at the bottom of the PSL 2023 points table. On the other hand, Islamabad United have won 5 out of their 7 games and are placed at the second position.
