Recently, Indian team came back from tour of Australia after clinching historic win over them. Earlier in the first match of the series, when India got all out for only 36 runs in the second innings, they were criticized very badly. However, thereafter under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane, Indian team not only improved the performance but also ended up in winning the Border-Gavaskar test series with 2-1 margin. In the midst of all this, Australia treated team India in an awkward manner, R Ashwin reveals the bitter truth after getting back to India.

India vs Australia series has the history to have heated moment between the players whether it is on-field banter or off filed controversies. This time also some controversies grab the headlines. From racial abuse of Indian players to sledding incidents and quarantine breaches, test series witnessed many controversial moments.

Although, Indian star spinner R Ashwin after returning to India reveals one more bitter truth about the Australian management. Ashwin told in an conversation with India’s fielding coach R Sridhar on his YouTube channel that Indians players were not allowed to be in the same lift with Australian players.

This is very strange to believe that even after in the same bubble they were not allowed to be in the same lift. However, R Ashwin himself reveals this bitter truth how Australian management treated Indian team in Australia.

“We Felt So Bad”- R Ashwin

“We reached Sydney they locked us with severe restrictions. There was a unique thing that happened in Sydney. It was strange, to be honest. Both India and Australia were in the same bubble. But when Australian players were in the lift, they won’t allow Indian players inside it,” Ashwin said in a conversation with R Sridhar.

“Seriously guys? We felt so bad at that time. We are in the same bubble. But you get into the lift and you can’t share the space with another person staying in the same bubble. It was too difficult for us to digest. We are all in the same bubble, but you can’t get into the lift and share the lift space,” he added.

Ravichandran Ashwin throughout the Test series showed his class and plays a vital role in winning the series. He took 12 wickets and become the second highest wicket taker even after missing the last match due to back pain. He also batted very nicely in the Day 5 of the third test match and helped team India to secure the match in a draw.
