The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League has reached its culmination and will end on 29th May with the final. Gujarat Titans beat Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 1 to become the first team this year to reach the final of over a month-long tournament. Apart from match-winning performances by Hardik Pandya and David Miller for Gujarat, there was one other moment which caught the fancy of the fans as R Ashwin stuns netizens by bowling a delivery at 131kmph.

Rajasthan Royals were invited to bat first after Hardik Pandya won the toss. The Rajasthan batsmen did well to score a challenging 188 runs, but it didn’t prove enough for the franchise to win the game. While they were defending the total, there came a surprising moment which has become the talk of the town as R Ashwin stuns netizens with his pace bowling. The vital cog in Rajasthan setup, Ashwin clocked the ‘unbelievable’ 131kmph which left the fans in awe.

The paced-up delivery came in the 8th over of the Gujarat inning when Matthew Wade was facing Ashwin. After giving just a single on the first two deliveries, Ashwin bowled the next delivery from round wicket which was a wide down the leg-side. Surprisingly for the viewers, the ball clocked 131kmph as R Ashwin stuns netizens with his ever-evolving cricketing skills.

Gujarat Titans had a few hiccups initially in their inning but their ship was steadied by the skipper Hardik Pandya and David Miller, who remained unbeaten till the end of the inning and took their team home. The win against Rajasthan has confirmed Gujarat’s seat in the final in their debut season. The Eliminator will now be played between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the winner of which will face Rajasthan in the Qualifier 2.
