R Ashwin had an underwhelming start to the 2022 T20 WC and took just 3 scalps off the first 4 matches of the tournament. Regardless, the 36-year-old spinner roared back to form by taking 3 wickets for 21 runs during the IND vs ZIM clash held on November 6.
During toss time, Ravi was part of some controversial footage that didn’t get much attention during the live broadcast. The clip, however, is now in our hands and the truth will be noticed by one and all.
R Ashwin’s dirty tactic gets caught
Indian captain Rohit Sharma was given a team overview to the interviewer after having won the toss and electing to bat first.
The Zimbabwean skipper, Craig Ervine left the camera scope to let Rohit take the centre stage for the proceedings. However, in doing so, Ervine exposed Ravi.
In a hilarious incident, R Ashwin was seen confused between the 2 jerseys (jackets) that lay on the ground. Upon not reaching a conclusion after looking at the jerseys, Ravichandran employed a cringe and dirty tactic to identify his clothing.
The Indian off-spinner sniffed the sweat on both the jerseys one by one and then dropped the second jersey back on the ground, perhaps because it smelled worse and wasn’t his.

Since R Ashwin was able to use his sense of smell very well during the hilarious incident, it more or less confirms that he is not COVID positive. It also confirms that someone in the Indian Team smells a lot.
R Ashwin also responds after the video goes viral. Here’s his tweet.
Checked for the sizes to differentiate!❌

On a side note, this incident is not the first one where R Ashwin can be seen using his street-smart brain.
The Chennai-born is the undisputed ambassador of mankading across the globe and won Team India a crunch game against Pakistan in the ongoing 2022 T20 WC by rick-rolling Md. Nawaz into bowling a wide against him.
