Rashid Khan requests help as UAE-returning Team Afghanistan gets stuck at an airport

The players of Afghanistan had left United Arab Emirates more than 40 hours ago.

Close finishes against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage of 2022 Asia Cup had already caused a lot of trouble to Nabi and co. but things aren’t getting much easier for them after it. Rashid Khan had to take to Twitter as even after leaving the United Arab Emirates after September 8’s game against India (more than 40 hours ago), Team Afghanistan did not reach home and got stuck at an airport.

The war-stricken nation came crashing down after making it to the Super 4 stage of the 2022 Asia Cup and lost all three games of the round-robin phase.

Rashid Khan requests help after getting stuck at Heathrow airport

The players of Afghanistan had departed for United Kingdom (England) after losing to India in their last 2022 Asia Cup game and reached there on time.

Nonetheless, their experience wasn’t great at the London (Heathrow) airport. The team and support staff of Afghanistan were made to wait in a queue for more than 4 hours at UK airport and the same was made public by Rashid Khan on Twitter.

Rashid requested for help and pointed out the lack of officials at the Heathrow airport in a Tweet that read, “We have all been queuing for the last 4 hours. Only two person at the immigration desk for 2 airlines! Heathrow plz allocate more staff! We are still only half way! @HeathrowAirport”.

Rashid Khan and the team still had to take another flight from London to Afghanistan at the time Rashid had sent out the tweet for help discussing the dire situation.
