Rashid Khan reveals MS Dhoni’s fielding advice
MS Dhoni has truly been a champion captain as far as his international and IPL record is concerned. The ex-skipper is the only international captain who has won all the three ICC trophies; a unique feat, which is a tough nut to crack. Chennai Super Kings has done phenomenally under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. Apart for leading his team, Dhoni is often seen with youngsters mentoring them and giving them valuable advice.
Rashid Khan disclosed one of his interactions with Dhoni on the YouTube show Cricast where he hailed Dhoni as one of the best captains and wicketkeepers. The leg-break bowler also shared how Dhoni suggested him to be careful while fielding as recklessness and over aggressiveness may lead to injury. Rashid Khan shared that Dhoni gives the same advice to the Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
“Every time after our matches, the discussions that I have with him has helped me. Last time he told me ‘You have to be careful while fielding, you slide, throw the ball when it is not necessary, you get aggressive. Because there is only one Rashid and people want to see you more, what will happen if you get injured? Keep this in mind, I tell (Ravindra) Jadeja the same thing’,” said Rashid.

Rashid dreams of playing under Dhoni someday and finds him the perfect wicketkeeper to explain things. MS Dhoni revived the CSK camp in the 14th edition after their dismal performance in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League where they ended their season on 7th position. However, in the 2021 edition, CSK is on the second position with 5 wins under their belt.
