Spin all-rounder Ravi Ashwin led helped Team India snatch a victory from jaws of defeat during the 2nd Test against Bangladesh.

Mehidy Hasan’s five-for had dropped India to their knees. The visitors stared down a certain loss, being seven down for 71 chasing a 145-run target in the fourth innings. However, an unbeaten 62-ball-42 from Ravichandran helped India chase the tricky total down as he put on a match-winning 74 run stand with Shreyas Iyer (29* off 46).

The fourth innings heroics with the bat combined with bowling figures of 6 for 137 saw Ravi Ashwin get his hands on the Player of The Match award. He took to Twitter to share a photo holding the trophy, celebrating India’s triumph.

SL journalist demeans Ravi Ashwin; gets a destructive response

Replying to the tweet, Sri Lankan journalist Nibraz Ramzan demeaned the spinner’s efforts and said that Team India would have lost the second test if not for his dropped catch.

He sarcastically asked Ashwin to hand the Player of The Match trophy to Mominul Haque, who had dropped his catch at short leg. He was just 1 off 12 at that point of time and reminding him of that, Ramzan tweeted:

“Should have handed this 🏆 (trophy) to Mominul Haque who dropped that dolly… Had he bagged it, India all-out for 89 for sure”.

Ravi Ashwin dished out a destructive response tweet to the Sri Lankan journalist saying that people like him and Daniel Alexander (infamous Indian cricket hater) would not have a career if Team India did not play cricket.

“Oh no ! I thought I blocked you, oh sorry that’s the other guy. what’s his name?? 🤔🤔 Yes Daniel Alexander that’s the name !! Imagine what you both would do if India didn’t play cricket”.

Indian cricket fans threw support behind Ravi Ashwin and applauded the Test great for putting the journalist in his place.
