Ravi Shastri gives an update about Rohit Sharma’s inclusion in the third Test

Team India is on cloud nine after winning the second Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The team came to all guns blazing after a humiliating loss in the first Test, where they created a record for the lowest total ever for India in a Test inning. The third Test is going to start from 7th January in Sydney and fans are expecting the ‘Hitman’ to be included in the squad. Team India’s head coach Ravi Shastri has given an update on the inclusion of Rohit Sharma.

Team India dominated Australia since Day 1 of the second Test and never gave them any opportunity to make a comeback of any sort. The bowlers were brilliant and they were ably supported by the fielders this time. The batsmen showed class and Ajinkya Rahane went on to hit a memorable century in Melbourne. The series is now tied at 1-1 with two more matches to be played in the series.

We will have to see how he feels: Ravi Shastri

Rohit Sharma was not included in any of the squad initially for the Australia tour but was picked for the last two Tests later on. The star India batsman was suffering from a hamstring injury but he has recovered now and has completed his quarantine in Sydney. Fans are eagerly waiting for the ‘Hitman’ to play in the third Test. The stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane even said that the team is excited to welcome the opening batsman in the squad for the third Test.

India’s head coach Ravi Shastri said, “Rohit joins the team tomorrow. We will have a chat with him to see where he is placed physically because he has been quarantined for a couple of weeks. We will have to see now how he feels before we take the call.”

The statement by Shastri has created quite a confusion for the cricket lovers. Earlier, the fans raised a lot of questions when Rohit Sharma was not included in any of the squad for the tour. The reason that was cited was his hamstring injury, but the batsman was seen playing for his IPL team Mumbai Indians. Fans speculated a rife in the team but all those rumours were put to rest later on. Fans will now be hoping to see their favourite batsman on the field playing for his team.
