The 14th season of the Indian Premier League is all set to resume from the 19th of September. The tournament was earlier suspended in the month of May due to the Covid-19 outbreak. All the teams have already reached the UAE and had numerous practice sessions. Also, now that the tournament is just around the corner, the teams have started having intra-squad match simulations. The RCB side had one such Practice match ahead of the second leg of IPL 2021 and the Scorecard of the same can be found below.

While the RCB skipper, Virat Kohli, and the fast bowler Mohammed Siraj are in quarantine, the rest of the Bangalore squad had a good practice match. The Squad was divided into two teams, namely – RCB A and RCB B, and were led by Harshal Patel and Devdutt Padikkal respectively.

Here’s The Highlight of the Practice Match:

With AB de Villiers in his side, Harshal Patel decided to bat first after winning the toss. ‘RCB A’ lost a wicket early but then ABD and Mohammad Azharuddin stabled the innings with a brilliant partnership. The runs kept coming from both the ends and ABD reached his half-century in the 7th over. De Villiers went on to score 104 runs with the help of 46 deliveries. He smacked 7 boundaries and 10 sixes in his innings. Azharuddin, from the other side, supported AB brilliantly. He scored a 43-ball 66 with the help of 3 sixes and 4 boundaries. The practice match turned out to be a high-scoring game as ‘RCB A’ set a big total of 212-runs on the board for their opposition to chase.

The seemingly big total was chased down by Padikkal’s side as KS Bharat scored a 47-ball 95. Captain Padikkal played a 36-run knock. ‘RCB B’ were always in the chase as the runs kept coming. Though it took the last ball for the match to be decided, the ‘RCB B’ side won it by 7 wickets at the end. ABD’s century might not have benefitted the ‘RCB A’ side in the practice match but the RCB fans might be pretty excited to see an in-form AB de Villiers in action, in the main event.
