RCB rated as the Most Popular Sports Team in Asia, Manchester United ruled social networks in Europe

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have raced ahead of the biggies like Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings on social media.

The world of social media has made it fairly easy for the celebrities from different fields to stay in touch with their fans in the easiest way possible. There is a lot of interaction that goes in these days and the fans are well aware of a celeb’s life because of the updates on their social media handles.

All the franchises in the IPL have their own handles which they use to interact and update their fans. In the latest rankings by Deportes&Finanzas, RCB rated as the Most Popular Sports team in Asia.

While the giants of the Indian Premier League like Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are pretty active on their social media handles, RCB has raced ahead of them as far as fan engagement is concerned. The team which was led by Virat Kohli till the 2021 season hasn’t won the tournament even once, but enjoys a loyal fanbase which always stands up for them.

The rankings have been released by Deportes&Finanzas on their Twitter handle, where they displayed the most popular sports teams from each continent. It may surprise a section of the fans, but in the rankings RCB rated as the Most Popular Sports Team in Asia. The European social networks were dominated by Manchester United. The ranking has been decided on the basis of the fan engagement on social networks.

Like Europe, football clubs get most of the attention in America and Africa continents. Brazilian club Flamengo and Egyption club Al Ahly SC were the most engaged Sports teams on social networking sites in American continent and Africa respectively. Oceania continent is an exception like Asia where a non-football team ruled the social media last year. Collingwood FC which is an Australian rules football club is at top of the list as far as Australia continent is concerned.

All the IPL Franchises are going to be revamped for the 2022 season as the Mega Auction is going to take place on 12 and 13 February. As many as 590 players are going to go under the hammer and their fate will be decided in the Mega Auction. What makes the Mega Auction even more interesting is that a lot of big names have been released by their franchises and they may well be a part of a new setup as the auction takes place.
