Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan currently sits atop the global leaderboards as one of the best bowlers in the limited-overs format. The 21-year old leggie has acquired a whole plethora of tricks up his long bowling sleeves; thanks to the vast experience he has gained from competing in leagues all across the globe, like the PSL, BBL, and of course- the IPL. His affluent arsenal of bowling-variations establish him as one of the toughest modern-day bowlers to compete against. So much so- that in a recent interview, Kiwi leg-spinner Ish Sodhi openly admitted to him currently being the best leggie in the World.

Rashid, meanwhile, in a recent interview, made some rather interesting revelations about some of the players he has played against. In a recent Instagram live-session with TV presenter Ridhima Pathak; the Nangahar-born leggie revealed the names of the three batsmen he finds the most challenging to bowl at.

When Ridhima asked him about the deadliest batsmen in the modern-day sport, Rashid didn’t waste any time thinking about the answer.

“Andre Russell, Hardik Pandya and Chris Gayle are the deadliest batsmen out there”- Rashid Khan

“At the moment, there are two batsmen, Andre Russell and Hardik Pandya. In my opinion, they are the most dangerous batsmen, especially in the death overs,” he said. “I think Chris Gayle would be the next on the list; even at 40 years of age, he has got so much power in his batting,” he added.

Interestingly, none of the players Rashid mentioned have shared the dressing room with him. One can only imagine the potential a team featuring the four of them together would hold!

Apart from cricket, Rashid also revealed that he is a big fan of Bollywood actor Amir Khan. “I love Amir Khan; he is my favorite actor. Movies like 3 idiots, Tare Zameen Par, and Dangal are my favorite; being a sportsperson, they inspire me a lot,” he concluded.
