‘Read the rule book’ – Netizens slam Glenn Maxwell for getting angry on 3rd Umpire’s decision

The Aussie batter looked in complete disguise and looked furious while returning back to the pavilion.

Maxwell runout

Australia’s explosive batter, Glenn Maxwell looked furious as he was adjudged run out in the third T20I against India.

Maxwell was clearly short of his crease but Team India’s wicketkeeper, Dinesh Karthik had disturbed the stumps a bit before the throw reached which made Maxwell believed he will be given not out.

Maxwell was then criticised by commentators and cricket fans on social media.

Maxwell lost temper after getting dismissed

Glenn Maxwell pushed the fourth delivery of the eighth over towards deep fine leg as Chahal bowled a slowish delivery down the leg side.

The non-striker, Steve Smith, was quite sure about the second run as he pushed Maxwell who wasn’t as sure as Smith and eventually fell short of his crease as Axar Patel hit a bullet throw from the fine leg region.

The twist here was noticed when the on-field umpire called for a review to the third umpire and India’s keeper Dinesh Karthik had clearly disturbed the stumps before the throw reached him which allowed the Australian fans to cheer a bit.

However, it was clearly evident on the big screen that Karthik had dislodged just one bail and the other bail remained groved with the stumps and was actually displaced as the ball made contact with the stumps.

After cross checking 2-3 times, the third umpire had a clear conclusive evidence of Maxwell felling short and the clean dislodge of the bail which allowed him to rule the decision in favor of the fielding side.

The Aussie batter looked in complete disguise and looked furious while returning back to the pavilion.

However, Maxwell was slammed for his bad temper as commentators reminded him of laws of the game while netizens asked him to check the rule book before getting angry at the umpire’s decision.

The Aussie team got a breathtaking start as their newly appointed opener, Cameron Green raced to 52 in just 21 deliveries but they couldn’t carry the momentum given by Green as Finch was dismissed by Axar and Smith By Chahal
