Reports: England players furious with Team India, 3 players pull out of IPL 2021

The cancellation of the 5th test has left the England side resentful, three English players just pulled out from the second leg of IPL 2021

The 5th and the final test of the 5-match test series between India and England was cancelled due to a fresh Covid-19 case in the Indian contingent. Though the boards came onto this decision after consequent rounds of discussion, the English players doesn’t seem to be liking the way the match had to be called off. The English players have shown their displeasure already and some of them are even furious after the cancellation of the test. Moreover, three of the players from the England test squad just pulled off their names from the UAE leg of the IPL 2021.

There were some reports earlier which stated that a player from the English contingent is planning to pull off his name from the IPL due to the cancellation of the Old Trafford test. Though on Saturday it was revealed that 3 England players have pulled their names off the IPL.

Three England players pull out of the UAE leg of IPL 2021

Jonny Bairstow, Chris Woakes, and Dawid Malan have pulled their names off the IPL 2021. According to a report by The Guardian, the players pulled off keeping in mind the upcoming busy international schedule. With the T20 world cup in October and Ashes in December, England players will be busy ahead in the year. Hence, instead of playing the IPL, the players have decided to spend some time with their families.

Though some reports are suggesting the above reasons, the netizens are connecting it to the cancellation of the 5th test.

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings have signed South Africa’s Aiden Markram as Malan’s replacement.

Why was the 5th IND vs ENG test Cancelled?

The team India assistant physiotherapist Yogesh Parmar Tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday which created uncertainty in the Indian squad. Mind you, the team India head coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar tested positive a few days back, during the 4th test. Team Indian did play the 4th test in the absence of their coaches but with yet another positive case in the team, the players were reluctant to take field. This led to the cancellation of the Old Trafford test.

Why are the England players furious?

There are some reasons why the England players are expressing displeasure. Some Reports suggest that the Indian Cricketers were seen out on the Manchester Streets a day before the match. While some claim that some Indian players went to a departmental store. All in all the English side is infuriated by cancellation of the final test. They have termed the visitors’ behaviour ‘reckless’ and called their carelessness as the reason of the cancellation of the test.
