Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli go wild with their celebration after series win; splash champagne on teammates

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, and Rishab Pant were in quite the mood during the post-match celebrations.

Thanks to Rishabh Pant’s maiden One Day internationals ton and an all-round performance by Hardik Pandya, India beat England in the last ODI to win the 3 match series by a margin of 2-1 on Sunday.

Following the victory, the trophy was handed over to Rohit Sharma. The Indian skipper soon passed the trophy to incumbent Arshdeep, continuing the trend of keeping youngsters at the forefront of the trophy-posing.

However, both before and after the team photo, there were some really wild celebrations from Virat Kohli and Pant.

Kohli and Rishabh splash champagne on teammates

Before Rohit Sharma could hand the trophy over to Arshdeep, Rishabh opened his bottle of champagne. He then went on to splash it on the Indian captain, Rohit, who happens to be a good friend of his.

Then, the team posed for the photo. It seemed like that was it. Regardless, Virat Kohli had other plans.

Known for being over-the-top and mischievous as anyone else, Kohli too, popped open a champagne of his own. Though Arshdeep and Rohit managed to run away in time, Dhawan could not escape from Virat Kohli’s wild celebration. The former Indian skipper chased Shikhar all the way through, drenching him in quality alcohol.

Pant hasn’t been able to leave his mark in LOIs thus far and many have taken him at their gun-point. Kohli’s case has been even more twisted. The ‘Runmachine’ hasn’t been able to hit a single century in the last 32 months.

Therefore, to see Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant enjoy themselves so much is great. Everyone loves both the cricketers for being the animated characters that they are, after all.

Interestingly, the duo also gifted a champagne each to former head-coach Ravi Shastri. Shastri -who gave up the job a year ago- can now be seen commentating over international cricket matches.
