Friday the 8th was a historic day in the history of the Indian Premier League. For the first time ever, two matches were being played at the same time. League match no. 55 and no. 56 were unique in the way that they were played at the same time. Match No. 55 was between SRH and MI while Match No. 56 saw RCB and DC locking horns. During the toss in Match No. 56, Rishabh Pant cries and creates a funny moment.

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals had already qualified for the playoffs before the game on Friday. The match on 8th October was like a dress rehearsal for both the camps where they could gauge their preparation for the big matches that are lined up in the coming days. Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bowl and it was during the toss when Rishabh Pant cries.

Simon Doull was on the toss with the captains from both sides and the match referee Prakash Bhatt. RCB skipper flipped the coin in the air and the DC captain called Tails, losing the toss. Immediately after losing the toss, Rishabh Pant cries funnily which made for a light moment during the toss. Everyone who was present smiled at the hilarious reaction by Pant.

The last league match of the Indian Premier League turned out to be a thrilling affair as it went right down to the wire. RCB attained the victory on the last ball of the match, courtesy of the last ball maximum by KS Bharat. Earlier, Delhi Capitals started well but their middle order faltered and they could only get 164 in their quota of 20 overs.

Qualifier 1 will be played between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings on 10th October, while Qualifier 2 will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders on 11th October. The final of the 2021 edition of IPL will take place on 15th October.
