Rajasthan Royals’ all-rounder Riyan Parag has faced a string of failures in IPL 2023. In the GT vs RR game in Jaipur on May 5, Riyan Parag failed to impress with the bat yet again and posted a motivational tweet for which he was brutally trolled by social media users.

Rajasthan Royals had lost early wickets of Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, and Ashwin after which Riyan Parag came in to bat at the number 6 position. The RR all-rounder scored just 4 runs off 6 deliveries when his team badly needed some contribution from him with the bat.

Riyan Parag’s tweet after GT vs RR clash goes viral on social media

Riyan Parag took to Twitter after the GT vs RR game on May 5 and wrote, “Waqt acha ho ya bura Guzar he jata hai!”

However, his tweet didn’t go well with cricket fans as he got heavily criticized on social media. Cricket fans believed he should not blame it on time when provided with so many opportunities by the Rajasthan Royals franchise over the years.

Some of the Rajasthan Royals’ fans were so disappointed with his performance that they suggested him to retire from Indian Premier League. He was also advised to focus more on the nets rather than posting cryptic tweets after his failure with the bat.

Interestingly, Riyan Parag had tweeted ahead of the IPL 2023 that his inner conscience says he will hit four sixes in an over during the 16th edition of the cash-rich league. However, his performance has been the exact opposite of what he had predicted.

Riyan Parag has only been able to score 58 runs in 6 games in IPL 2023 with a strike rate of 107.40. At one point, he was even left out of the starting XI. He was brought in as an Impact Player after Rajasthan Royals lost a few wickets in quick succession.

The young all-rounder was dismissed after scoring just 4 runs as he couldn’t read Rashid Khan’s googly and played across the line after which he was adjudged LBW by the on-field umpire. While it looked plumb even with naked eyes, he went for the DRS and wasted it as well.

Riyan Parag has till now played 53 games for Rajasthan Royals after making his debut in IPL 2019. He has just scored 580 runs with a mediocre average of 16.11 which raises a question mark on his selection in the playing XI.
