Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been making the headlines for all the right reasons as a captain and batsman in the ongoing edition of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. Meanwhile, he came under fire for overspeeding on the Mumbai-Pune highway. The skipper was caught travelling in his car at a blistering speed. The traffic authority concerning that area took note of the incident and took the matter very seriously.

They have every right to care for the safety of the people. According to a report from Pune Mirror, Rohit Sharma was issued three challans for crossing his limits and driving a Lamborghini Urus at a top speed in excess of 200 kmph. Some fans opine that Rohit Sharma shouldn’t be driving the car at this maximum speed since it can be too risky in the first place.

The Indian captain decided to take a short break by travelling to his hometown, Mumbai to spend some quality time with his family for two days following India’s game against the Pakistan cricket team at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He jetted off to Mumbai via helicopter before reuniting with the team on October 17, Tuesday.

While returning, the Indian captain Rohit Sharma drove a Lamborghini Urus at top speed on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, which caught the attention of the traffic authorities. The concerned traffic authority issued three online traffic challans on his registered number plate.

“The Indian captain, right in the middle of the World Cup, driving down on a highway is not advisable at all. He should be travelling in the team bus with a police car escorting it,” the traffic personnel added in a statement.

Rohit Sharma led the team ever so well in the World Cup 2023. His performances as captain and batsman have been nothing short of spectacular. Under his leadership, India won three games on the trot, defeating Australia, Afghanistan and Pakistan respectively.
