The upcoming T20 World Cup is going to be a game-changer as far as Indian Cricket is concerned. India hasn’t been able to win a title in the last 7 ICC tournaments including the ICC World Test Championship. India has tried everything, from changing skippers and coaching staff to preferring youngsters over experienced players. But nothing has worked in the last 9 years. This year too India will take the field with new strategies under new skipper Rohit Sharma.

BCCI makes Rohit Sharma play under KL Rahul, fans left confused

Rohit who has earned India’s captaincy role due to his success with Mumbai Indians is going to lead the national team for the first time in an ICC event. His captaincy record for India has been exceptionally well and he is expected to continue the momentum in the mega event. Meanwhile, Indian team management shocked and confused Indian fans with their decision on the captaincy.

Currently, India are playing their second warm-up match against Western Australia in Perth. Rohit Sharma is playing the match but has not been named the captain but it’s KL Rahul whom BCCI has handed leadership duties for the match. But fans are not able to digest the fact that Rohit Sharma who is named captain for the T20 World Cup is playing under KL Rahul 10 days ahead of the tournament. Rohit fans shouldn’t be worried as there is no change in the captaincy role as far as the T20 World Cup squad is concerned. Maybe team management wants to prepare Rahul for his role of stand-by captain. And for the same reason Dinesh Karthik has been named wicket-keeper when Rishabh Pant, the primary keeper is also the part of XI. However, Virat Kohli is missing India’s second warm-up game too which is quite interesting. Kohli, Suryakumar and Chahal are named under the bracket of benched players.
