Talking about the upcoming season, RCB is making key appointments in their staff. A few days ago, they sacked Gary Kirsten from the position of Head Coach who is now replaced by Simon Katich. While the franchise named Mike Hesson as team’s Director Of Cricket Operations.
Historic Appointment Of Royal Challengers Bangalore
Now, RCB has made a historic appointment as they became the first IPL franchise to appoint a woman in team’s staff. RCB has named Navnita Gautam as Sports Massage therapist. Navnita will work with Evan Speechly, the Head Physiotherapist and Shanker Basu, Strength & Conditioning Coach to identify, evaluate, provide guidance and implement massage therapy to suit the team and any relevant prevailing conditions.
RCB Charman, Sanjeev Churiwala is very pleased on Navnita Gautam’s appointment. He said, “I am very pleased to be a part of this moment in history and another step in the right direction. The game has come a long way, in many ways, in terms of the Women’s Cricket Team and how many people are watching it. The interest was long due.”

After the RCB’s horrible performance in 2019, there were rumours that AB de Villiers will replace Virat Kohli as the captain. However, the franchise is sticking with Virat Kohli to lead the side in next season. Virat has captained RCB in 96 matches. Out of those matches, the team has won 44 while 47 times they had to taste defeat. RCB has played 3 IPL finals (in 2009, 2011 and 2016) but the team had to satisfied as runners-up.
