SA20 2024: Video of a Girl chugging Glass of Beer during the match goes viral

On January 19, the SA20 match between MI Cape Town and Paarl Royals saw the Kieron Pollard-led team winning the game by 8 wickets. MI Cape Town were given a target of 173 runs by the Royals, which they successfully chased in 16.5 overs. Ryan Rickelton emerged as the hero of the match, playing an unbeaten 94-run knock off 52 balls. In addition to his stellar performance, a fan moment during the match is also garnering attention.

During Paarl Royals’ innings, the camera panned over some spectators. As a girl noticed herself on the big screen, she decided to be the center of attention. She drank a cup of soft drink in one gulp, after which received a big cheer from the crowd for her action.

Now she decided to do something unexpected, she grabbed the beer glass out of the hand of the person sitting next to her and chugged the whole glass in one go. As she finished the glass of beer, she again received a huge cheer from the Cape Town crowd. As for the match, Paarl Royals had posted 172 runs on the board. The MI Cape Town openers proved to be too good for the Royals’ bowlers as Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton formed an impressive 80-run opening partnership. Even after Dussen’s departure, Rickelton didn’t cease the fireworks.
