In the first match of the tournament, India legends lead by Sachin Tendulkar defeated the Lara’s West Indies Legends by 7 wickets at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Amidst of all, it is Sachin Tendulkar’s high-class shot which made to headlines.

Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar had taken the retirement from International cricket around 7 years ago. But when Sachin came in to bat in the first match of the Road Safety World Series 2020, it never felt that the Sachin is playing after so long time. He was in the proper touch as the execution of the shots was beyond perfection.

During the Sulieman Ben’ over, Sachin played a late uppercut to send the ball past the slips to add 4 runs to his team’s tally. It all happened on the 7th over of the second innings when Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag were busy in building the partnership for the first wicket.

Earlier in the match, after winning the toss India Legends invited the West Indies legends to bat first at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Meanwhile, in the first innings, Brian Lara’s West Indies legends managed to score 150-8 at the end of the 20 overs. From the WI Legends, Shivnarine Chanderpaul was the top scorer who scored 61 runs off just 41 balls.

In the reply, India Legends comfortably chased down the score inside 19 overs. Virender Sehwag has played a beautiful knock of 74 off just 57 balls which includes 11 fours. Hence, Sachin lead India Legends won the match by 7 wickets with remaining of  10 balls. Virender Sehwag awarded with the ‘Player of the Match’ for his knock.
