Playing for the country is the dream of billions of people. However, very fewer gets the chance to represent the nation. And a very-very fewer become a legend of the sports. Sachin Tendulkar is one of them, his name compared to the ‘GOD’ when it comes to cricket. As we all know that Indian legendary cricketer Sachin had made his debut for India in 1989 against Pakistan. But did you know that his first appearance in International cricket was for Pakistan?

It is very hard to believe but it’s true that he had played for Pakistan before debuting for India. 2 years before debuting for India, Sachin Tendulkar had made his taste in International cricket as a substitute fielder of Pakistan. When Pakistan was in the tour of India in 1987, Sachin was sent in as a substitute fielder of Imran Khan’s team.

Actually, Javed Miandad and Abdul Qadir left the field at the lunchtime and Sachin was asked to field. Sachin himself has revealed this incident in his book, ‘Playing It My Way’. However, there is no such video footage of the Festival Match at Mumbai’s Brabourne stadium. But Sachin Tendulkar has remembered that Imran Khan deployed him at long-on and soon Kapil Dev hit a skier in his direction. Despite running 15 metres, Tendulkar couldn’t reach the ball.

Later on, Sachin said to a friend that he could have taken the catch had he been positioned at mid-on instead of long-on. These words can prove that how legendary cricketer Tendulkar is honest with his game. Even he was fielding for the opposition team despite that he wanted to take that catch.
