Rain always plays spoilsport in cricket. You can play football and some other sports in the rain. But there are various factors why cricket can’t be played in the rain. However, today Sachin Tendulkar posted a video on his twitter account which shows even the rain can’t stop him playing cricket.

This is an old video where the former batsman can be seen batting in a water-filled pitch during rain. In the video Sachin Tendulkar has donned India practice kit and bowler using a rubber ball. Despite the pitch is fully covered with water, Sachin is easily understanding the bounce and showcasing some amazing looking drives.

Sachin Tendulkar posted this video on his twitter handle and wrote a beautiful caption, “Love and passion for the game always helps you find new ways to practice, and above all to enjoy what you do. #FlashbackFriday”

Why No Cricket In Rain?

Fans always ask a question; Why is a cricket match not played in rain? The question was trending in May after many matches of the 2019 World Cup affected by rain. Like football, cricket can’t be played in the rain and there are various factors behind it. In football, both teams play the same way at the same time so there is no question of unfair advantage. But in cricket, one team bats and the other one bowl so if the match happens during the rain the wet outfield and pitch can give an unfair advantage to one of the sides.

Also, the game in cricket lasts much longer than the duration of a football game. Football allows you to play for longer duration in worse conditions than cricket allows to do so.  A football game is done considering that the game is mostly done before the rain gets heavier after the game has started.
