Sachin Tendulkar to lead India Legends in Road Safety World Series 2; Check captains of all 8 teams

The Road safety world series season 2 will start from 10 September to 1 October. In this tournament, all the retired players from their teams played, and it is exciting to see our past heroes see and witnessed them playing.

 

All the earnings from this tournament go as a fund for road safety awareness and related tasks in the country and around the globe. The RSWS aims to drive social change in the country and change people’s outlook on road safety.

 

New Zealand is the new team in the tournament this time. Now, there are eight teams in the competition i.e. India legends, West indies legends, Bangladesh legends, Sri Lanka legends, South Africa legends, Australia legends, New Zealand legends, and England legends.

 

In the road safety world series (RSWS) season 2, Sachin Tendulkar will lead the Indian Legends. He also captained this tournament in the first season and the team won the inaugural title. 

Here is the list of captains for all the teams

Sachin Tendulkar (India legends), Brian Lara(West Indies legends), Tilakratne Dilshan(Sri Lanka legends), Ross Taylor(New zealand legends), Ian Bell(England legends), Jonty Rhodes(South Africa legends), Shane Watson(Australia legends), Mohammad Rafique(Bangladesh legends).

Some saying about RSWS by ministers

The RSWS is maintained by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the Ministry of Information and Technology, and Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said, “I am sure the Road Safety World Series will ambition to drive social variation and work as an ultimate platform to influence people’s mindset towards their behaviour on the road and road safety.” 

Minister for Road Transport & Highways – Nitin Gadkari said, “The Road Safety World Series is a very good initiative to create awareness towards road safety through cricket.”

 “We want every individual in this country to be aware and obey every rule and regulation while on the road and for that to happen, we have to create awareness among the people, I strongly believe that this series will be able to do and achieve the goal of saving lives on Indian roads,” he added.

The tournament opener will be held in Kanpur. Raipur will be hosting the two semifinals. The final, which is scheduled for October 1, will also be held in Raipur. Other venues include Indore and Dehradun.
