Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Cricket Stadium Records
The Naya Raipur Cricket Stadium has not hosted any international games across any format as of yet. However, a number of domestic T20s have been played at this venue. The stadium has hosted a total of 6 IPL games. Four of these games were won by the chasing sides while the defending sides managed to win two. The records of the same are provided below.
Domestic T20s Stats
Total Match Played: 6
Matches Won Batting First: 2
Won Batting Second: 4
Avg. first innings score: 146
Highest Score: Delhi Capitals 164/5
Lowest Score: Chennai Super Kings 119/6
The venue has also hosted 20 RSWS (Road Safety World Series) T20 matches. 12 of these games have been won by the chasing sides and the sides batting first won 8. It is hence clear that the sides batting second tend to have better chances of winning games at the Raipur Stadium.
Raipur Cricket Stadium Pitch Report
In the recent T20 games played at the Naya Raipur Cricket Stadium, it has been seen that the pitch has largely favored the batters. It has been easy for the batters to get going right from the start as the ball tends to come nicely onto the bat here. The surface here stays true throughout the game hence the batters do not face any difficulties in judging the ball. The quick outfield aids the batters even more.

The Raipur Stadium’s pitch does not offer much to the pacers hence they would have to rely on their variations in order to restrict the batters from posting big totals here. The spinners however would start finding a significant bit of assistance here as soon as the shine of the ball is gone. The overs of spin may hence prove to be a deciding factor at Raipur.
As the game progresses, batting tends to get easier at this venue. Any side would therefore be looking to chase upon winning the toss at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium.
