Punjab Kings ended yet another IPL season without entering the playoffs as they finished the tournament at 6th position on the points table. The silver lining for the team was Shikhar Dhawan who was amongst the runs once again for his franchise and scored 460 runs in the 14 matches he played for the team. The southpaw posted a hilarious video on his Instagram handle, where Shikhar Dhawan shares the reaction of his father after his team was knocked out of IPL.

Punjab Kings have not been able to perform well in the past few seasons. They have ended in the bottom half of the points table and have not entered the playoffs for a whopping 8 years in a row. The franchise disappointed its fans in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League as well with their inconsistent performance. The only consistent player for them was the opener Dhawan who was bought by them for INR 8.25 crores this year. After his team’s elimination, Shikhar Dhawan shares a comical reaction of his father on Insta.

In the video that has been posted by the PBKS batsman, Dhawan’s father can be seen beating Shikhar hilariously. Dhawan posted the video with the caption, “Knock out by my dad for not qualifying for knock outs.” The video has gone viral and has been receiving a lot of comments. Mayank Agarwal was appointed as the new captain for the team after KL Rahul was released by the franchise ahead of the Mega-Auction 2022.

As for IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans have already qualified for the big final while Royal Challengers Bangalore knocked out Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator on Wednesday evening. RCB will now play Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2, the winner of which will lock horns with Gujarat Titans who are riding high on their success in the tournament.
