Spectators who attended 4th day of ENG vs NZ Lord’s Test get full refund; Here’s why

The fans were in for a double treat as they got a full refund along with the English victory over the Kiwis.

The English team and the Kiwis are engaged in a 3-match Test series currently with England taking a lead of 1-0 after winning the first game. The game had a lot of see-saw moments and the fans were entertained massively by both the teams. The game didn’t go into the 5th day and was wrapped up in four days only. The spectators who attended the 4th day of ENG vs NZ Lord’s Test were treated by the win but also something extra that must have made their day.

ENG vs NZ Lord’s Test: Spectators get a full refund

New Zealand is touring England for a 3-match Test series which commenced on 02nd June with the first contest at Lord’s. The clash was a low scoring affair but there was no dearth of excitement as the game kept swinging like a pendulum. Since the game was low scoring, it didn’t reach to the fifth day and was completed on the 4th day itself, that too in about an hour. The spectators were in for a double treat though as the ground policies allowed them to get a full refund.

As per the refund policy of Lord’s cricket ground, if 15 overs or less are bowled on a particular match day, the spectators will get a full refund. This policy is applicable if only 15 overs or less are bowled due to weather conditions or because of the completion of the game. The ENG vs NZ Lord’s Test saw only 13.5 overs bowled before England marched to victory, thus making the spectators eligible for a full refund.

The ENG vs NZ Lord’s Test witnessed great bowling and as many as 17 wickets fell on the opening day of the match. Both the teams were neck to neck as far as their first inning was concerned. However, it was Root’s inning in the second half of the match that helped England clinch the victory and take a 1-0 lead against their opponent. The second Test will go underway on 10th June and the Kiwis would look to level the series. On the other hand, the hosts will look to take an unassailable lead in the series.
