SRH all-rounder Abhishek Sharma under interrogation after Model Tania Singh’s suicide

Abhishek Sharma who operates as an all-rounder for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the cash-rich Indian Premier League made the headlines after receiving a summon by police concerning the recent suicide case of Tania Singh. For the record, Tania Singh is a Surat-based model who has been plying her trade in fashion and modelling. The 28-year-old who has 10,000 followers on social media has been a friend of Abhishek Sharma for a long time.

The police started a probe into the suicide case and later came to know that the SRH all-rounder was a friend of hers. Upon investigation, it was learnt that the duo haven’t been in touch with each other of late. According to Ahmedabad Mirror, Tania Singh is a native of Rajasthan and lived at the Happy Elegance in the Vesu area. All of a sudden, she committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her apartment.

Why was Abhishek Sharma called for interrogation?

During the investigation, the police suspected a love affair behind the Surat-based model’s suicide. While thinking from this angle, they looked into the call details of her mobile and it was when Abhishek Sharma’s name came into the equation. If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, Abhishek Sharma’s name was on her last dialled list.

However, upon interrogation, it was said that there is no actual contact between both of them for a long time. Since Abishek had been her friend for a long time, he was called for interrogation. Further details of the case are awaited. Meanwhile, the all-rounder was part of the Punjab squad in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season but his team failed to perform well before they crashed out of the competition in the group stage.

Abhishek Sharma was retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. He will be looking forward to ticking the boxes with the bat and ball to help the team in the upcoming season. Sunrisers Hyderabad failed as a team in the previous season as things were in an absolute disarray. The Sunrisers finished at the bottom of the points table. However, with right players at their disposal, they should be looking to make a bid for the title.
