Sunil Gavaskar gives an advice to Rishabh Pant on his dismal form in IND vs SA T20 series

The wicketkeeper batsman has not been in a good form ever since the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League started.

Rishabh Pant is providing his captaincy duties to team India currently in the absence of KL Rahul who has been ruled out of the T20 series against South Africa. The team was hurt with two back-to-back defeats and bounced back in the do-or-die game on Tuesday. While other batsmen are proving a point with their batting display, veteran cricketer Sunil Gavaskar gives an advice to Rishabh Pant on his dismal form against South Africa.

Sunil Gavaskar gives an advice to Pant

Rishabh Pant has been struggling with his form ever since the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League started. The southpaw led Delhi Capitals in the league and looked off colour as a batsman only scoring 340 runs in 14 matches with the highest score of 44. His poor run continues in the international arena as he is struggling to hit deliveries. Considering his form, Sunil Gavaskar gives an advice to the stand-in Indian captain.

Sunil Gavaskar gives an advice to Rishabh Pant while talking to Star Sports after the third match. The veteran cricketer feels that the left-handed batsman needs to examine his batting and see what is the problem. “He has got to think about his batting now. He must think ‘I am getting out hitting deliveries. It is not coming in my arc. I have even moved outside off stump and yet I am not able to do that,” said Gavaskar while talking about Pant’s form.

Team India won the do-or-die third game against South Africa and have kept the series alive. They need to win the rest of the matches to win the series. Pant’s poor form resumed in the third match as he could only score 6 runs. His scores in the first and second match are 29 and 5 respectively which doesn’t do justice to his potential. While Sunil Gavaskar gives an advice to the wicketkeeper batsman, he needs to think about his game to make useful contributions for the team.
