We are all fighting a global pandemic and the best we can do to overcome it is by being responsible towards the set norms. However, the same wasn’t the case as Suresh Raina and few other celebrities were arrested at a nightclub for violating the set norms towards the COVID-19 pandemic.
Arrested: Suresh Raina, Susanne Khan, and Others
Former cricketer Suresh Raina along with Susanne Khan and singer Guru Randhawa were among the people who were arrested for violating COVID-19 norms from a club in Mumbai. All were booked and later released on bail. The surprise check happened at the Dragonfly nightclub in the suburb of Andheri where a party was on till the wee hours of the morning. As reports came in, the nightclub was operating way beyond its stipulated hours which were set in place as part of the COVID norms
Charged For Violation of COVID Norms
A total of 34 arrests were maded and booked under Section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (whoever unlawfully or negligently does any act which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC and provisions of NMDA.
Maharashtra Government Sets New Curfew Rules
In the aftermatch of a fresh virus outbreak (or rather cases of the COVID-19 virus resurfacing) reported in the United Kingdom, the Maharashtra Government imposed strict curfew across few cities in the state. As restrictive measures, the international airport stopped all arrivals and flights based to the UK. The night curfew imposed will be in effect from 22nd December (from 11pm to 6am). However, not more than a gathering of 5 people at the same time at a given place is permitted. These new set of measures will be in place until the 5th of January, 2021.
