Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is arguably the most successful captain in the history of Indian cricket, took to Instagram on August 15, 2020, and announced his retirement from international cricket. On the same day, after MS Dhoni announced his retirement, Suresh Raina who was considered as his best friend on the field announced his retirement too.

While speculations were there about MS Dhoni’s retirement, Raina retiring at the age of 35 was hard to digest for the cricket fans as most of the cricket pandits too believed there was much cricket left in him. “We played so many matches together. I was fortunate to play with him for India, and with CSK. We got a lot of love. I’ve come from Ghaziabad, Dhoni from Ranchi. I played for MS Dhoni, then I played for the country. That’s the connection. We’ve played so many finals, we won the World Cup. He’s a great leader and a great human being,” Raina said on Sports Tak.
