Calm attitude may have come from Ranchi, says Suryakumar Yadav
Team India will take on New Zealand in the series decider in Ahmedabad after winning the second T20I in Lucknow. Ahead of the third T20I, Suryakumar Yadav was asked about the calm approach he showed in the second T20I and he came up with an epic reply.
“T20 Ranchi me chalu huya tha toh calm attitude udhar se hi aaya (T20 series started in Ranchi so maybe that calm attitude came from there). But I guess a lot of domestic cricket which I played before making my international debut, that has helped me a lot,” Suryakumar Yadav said on the eve of the third T20I.
“The grind that we have there, we play on difficult conditions, challenging tracks and you have to apply yourselves, so whatever I have learned there I have carried it here. Rest whatever I have learned is by watching the senior players and talking to them about how they tackle various difficult situations,“ he further added.
It’s worth noting that Team India’s former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was known for his calm attitude specifically in intense pressure situations. Most of the youngsters in the current Indian squad made their debut under MS Dhoni and look up to him for guidance.
Suryakumar Yadav too has the ability to perform in tough situations as he has single-handedly won a lot games for the Men in Blue right since his T20I debut. The Mumbai-based batter is currently the top-ranked batter in ICC’s T20I player rankings.
