The first day of the 2024 Duleep Trophy saw Musheer Khan reaching his century against India A. The 19-year-old batter is representing Rishabh Pant-led India B in the 4-team tournament. Batting first, India B found themselves struggling at 94/7. However, Musheer Khan found crucial support from tailender Navdeep Saini, with whom he forged a 100+ partnership, ultimately reaching his well-deserved hundred.
Musheer Khan earns praise from Suryakumar Yadav
Musheer Khan’s gutsy century came off 205 balls, and by the end of the day, he and Navdeep Saini stood unbeaten with the team at 202/7. Both batters will resume their innings on Day 2. Musheer’s effort didn’t go unnoticed, as India’s T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, took to social media to praise him. Suryakumar not only applauded Musheer’s grit but also gave credit to Navdeep Saini for his support, using a famous dialogue from MS Dhoni’s biopic.
On his X handle, Suryakumar wrote, “What a knock, Musheer Khan! Supported brilliantly by Navdeep Saini. Duty ke baad roz practice, jitna duty utna practice.” This dialogue is from MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, where the Railway Station Master motivates Dhoni to follow his passion for cricket.

The tweet of Suryakumar Yadav also shows his admiration towards MS Dhoni. A few days ago, he posted a screenshot on Instagram watching MS Dhoni’s biopic. And it seems the film is still fresh in his mind.
