Sydney Cricket Ground Pitch Report

The SCG pitch is generally a good surface for batting where the batters mostly enjoy their time. The venue has seen quite a few high-scoring games hence it can be said there are no demons on the pitch for the batters. The Indian side even went on to chase a 200-run total here against Australia, back in 2016.

The pacers however would not enjoy bowling in Sydney as much as they would in any other venue in Australia. The Sydney Cricket Ground’s Pitch does not have the bounce and carry as is in the venues like the Gabba and MCG. Although, the spinners would be able to benefit from SCG pitch as it offers some spin and plays a bit slow as well.

Batting first should be the ideal choice after winning the toss at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Any total of around 170-180 would prove to be challenging at this ground.
