T20 World Cup 2021: Hardik Pandya likely to be replaced ahead of the tournament

Hardik Pandya might miss the T20 World Cup 2021 and get replaced by Shardul Thakur or Shreyas Iyer.

Hardik Pandya became a household name because of his exploits in the international arena after he made his debut for the Indian team. The Indian all-rounder got fame owing to his explosive batting in the death overs. However, the all-rounder has been facing a lot of health issues of late. Pandya has been struggling with back problem for quite some time and in a new development he is going to be replaced in the T20 World Cup 2021 squad.

The right-handed batsman has not been able to perform to his potential for the Indian team as he has been facing health concerns. The team tried to play him purely as a batter to manage the workload, but that didn’t reap desired results for the squad.

Even his IPL franchise Mumbai Indians tried to do the same but to no avail. Hardik Pandya may now be replaced by Shardul Thakur or Shreyas Iyer in the T20 World Cup 2021.

The Indian team needs Pandya as an all-rounder and many experts have opined in the past that the cricketer can’t just play in a team as a pure batter. The cricketer has enjoyed the luxury of bowling in certain matches for the Indian team ever since his back surgery. Pandya has not been able to make it to the Playing XI as often as his team would like to and that has put him under the scanner.
