The Hundred 2023 Draft: Babar Azam & Mohammad Rizwan find no buyer; Rauf & Afridi picked

Star Pakistan batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan didn’t find any takers at The Hundred 2023 Draft despite scoring consistently for their national side in the shortest format of the game. On the other hand, the Pakistan pace duo of Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf have been picked by the Welsh Fire franchise.

The Hundred 2023 Draft was held between 4 PM and 6 PM GMT on Thursday 23 March. The Hundred 2023 Men’s edition will begin on August 01. Defending champions Trent Rockets will contest against Southern Brave in the first game.

Apart from Babar and Rizwan, Shakib Al Hasan, Kieron Pollard, Marcus Stoinis and Adam Zampa didn’t get any buyers as well in the Hundred 2023 draft in the £125,000 category. Surprisingly, Babar Azam was the most demanded player ahead of the draft.

Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi has been picked in the £100,000 category while Trent Boult, Dwayne Bravo, and Andre Russell didn’t get picked in the same price category.

Apart from £125,000 and £100,000, the players were picked for different price categories which include £75,000, £60,000, £40,000 and £30,000 price category.
