BCCI and various franchises are chalking out the final plan for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. As the league is set to take place in UAE, it has added extra burden on the board and the franchises. Talking about Chennai Super Kings (CSK), a report claims that Dhoni and his men will board a chartered plane to fly to Dubai, owing to the current COVID-19 situation.
While BCCI will have a separate camp for the BCCI contracted players, other Indian players and overseas players will be training with their own IPL franchises. If a report by Insidesport is to be believed, CSK are planning to gather all their players in Dubai by August 8. They are looking to start the sessions by the end of the second week of the month.
We are exploring to book a chartered plane
“We are targeting to leave for Dubai with the entire squad by 8th August so that training camp can be organized for them before the end of 2nd week. Travel plans will be finalized once we receive instructions from BCCI on Do’s and Don’ts, quoted a CSK insider.
“In the circumstances, we are in, we will explore to book a chartered flight for the team. That will be the safest option in the current conditions,” the source further added.
Dhoni had earlier started the training in March to get ready for the 13th edition of IPL, however his plans fell apart after there was a nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19. The tournament had to be postponed because of the same.
IPL 2020 is going to begin on September 19 and the franchises are looking for a three-week training camp to prepare the players for the event. There will be an IPL Governing Council meeting on August 02 where the final schedule will be given along with the bio-secure protocol and camp details.
