The real reason why CSK want Ravindra Jadeja to skip rest of the IPL 2022 season

Ravindra Jadeja had suffered an injury in the upper body while fielding against the Royal Challengers Bangalore recently.

Ravindra Jadeja, the star player for the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), is set to be ruled out from the 15th instalment of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022. The left-handed batter had recently stepped down from captaincy and handed over the baton to lead the yellow army over to MS Dhoni.

The star all-rounder suffered severely an upper-body injury while playing against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Although, Jadeja batted despite having the injury and was departed after scoring 3 runs. Despite continuing to field, Jadeja was ruled out of the match against the Delhi Capitals, which the former champions easily won.

CSK doesn’t want Ravindra Jadeja worsen his injury, says reports

The CSK camp has assessed the Jadeja-situation and said that he might just not be as healthy right now. The left hand batter have had a bad season till now. He has only gathered up 116 runs and took just 5 wickets in 10 matches.

In the IPL, the 33-year-old has played 210 matches and scored a total of 2502 runs at a respectable average of 26.62. He has a strike rate of 127.65 and has two half-centuries to his name. He has taken 132 wickets with the ball at an economy rate of 7.61.

Meanwhile, the defending champions will be facing the 5 time champions Mumbai Indians at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 12th May (Thursday). CSK will then take on to Gujarat Titans on the same venue before playing their last league game against Rajasthan Royals at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.

Even though the defending champions win their group fixtures, they will only have 14 points, and their destiny will be decided by other teams, particularly the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). The 15th edition of the IPL is nearing its conclusion, and all franchises would want to win their group fixtures in order to have a good chance of making the playoffs.
