Team India has been ousted from the 2022 edition of the Asia Cup which is being played in the United Arab Emirates. There was a little glimmer of hope for India to reach the final but it was shattered when the Pakistani team trumped Afghanistan in the last thriller on Wednesday evening. Before the all-important clash took place, the pre-match show witnessed an irked Wasim Akram after Mayanti Langer asked him a question about India.

Mayanti Langer is a popular sports presenter in the Indian circuit and she was in conversation with former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar and former Pakistani pacer Wasim Akram before the game between Pakistan and Afghanistan went underway. Though it was a PAK vs AFG match, Mayanti asked a question about team India which annoyed the legendary bowler.

Talking about team India’s recent performance in the Asia Cup, Mayanti asked Wasim Akram whether team India will continue the way they are playing. Wasim Akram passed the question to Sanjay Manjrekar as the former Pakistani player looked irritated. He even went on to say that even the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is ‘sick’ of seeing himself on the TV all day long.

It is to note that Wasim Akram is a happy-go-lucky person and possesses a calm nature, however, Mayanti Langer’s question about team India in a PAK vs AFG clash rubbed him up the wrong way. As for the match, the Pakistani team won the edge of the seat thriller in the last over when the young Naseem Shah hit two consecutive sixes off Fazalhaq Farooqi. Pakistan needed 11 runs in the last over with only 1 wicket in hand and the up-and-coming Naseem Shah stole the show with his two maximums to win the match for his team.
