The nonstop action of T10 League that gave the viewers adrenaline rush is going to end soon. The final will be played on 6th Feb in Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The tournament has been filled with spectacular moments and one of them was seen in the match between Qalandars and Maratha Arabians. Qalandars’ opening batsman Tom Banton gave a shocking look during the match which caught the fancy of everyone.

Qalandars invited Maratha Arabians to bat upon winning the toss. The bowlers did a pretty good job for the team as they restricted their opponent to 101, which is quite an achievable target in the format. Hafeez was the top scorer for the Arabians as he accumulated 44 runs in just 26 deliveries. He was ably supported by Shoaib Malik who played a handy inning as well.

Tom Banton was taken aback

However, the highlight of the game was Kevin Koththigoda’s bowling action which garnered a lot of surprise from everyone, especially Tom Banton. Defending 101, Mosaddek Hossain brought Koththigoda into the attack in the first over itself. Tom Banton was at the striker’s end and was completely taken aback by the bowler’s action.

Banton defended the ball but the look on his face after facing the delivery was one of astonishment. It could be inferred by his reaction that Banton was not expecting such an unusual action. Koththigoda’s action has been compared to ex South African bowler Paul Adams who was active in the 90s. The action is popularly known as ‘frog in a blender’ action.

It only took Qalandars 8.1 overs to achieve the target. All the top-order batsmen barring Banton were instrumental in the win. Tom Banton was involved in a mix-up with his partner Sharjeel Khan and was run out as a result.
