Tom Moody picks his best IPL XI of this season; 2 Indian stars are missing!

Former Surnrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody recently picked his best XI at the ongoing Indian Premier League, and quite surprisingly, it had some top names missing. For the record, the Indian duo of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, along with this season’s top performers in Trent Boult and Marcus Stoinis were missing from Moody’s pick.

Kohli, Sharma Not In Tom Moody’s XI
Although they led their teams to the top four finish in the Indian Premier League 2020, skippers Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians) and Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bangalore) did find a place in Tom Moody’s team. In a very surprisingly picked squad, Delhi Capitals allrounder Marcus Stoinis and Mumbai Indians’ pacer Trent Boult too missed the bus. Kohli’s inconsistency and Sharma missing a few games in between could perhaps be the reason Moody’ overlooked the two.

Tom Moody’s XI
It may look to be a sensible selection though, considering the overseas player’s rule that the league has in place. This season’s top two run getters – Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul go in as the openers, while Surya Kumar Yadav comes in at number 3. RCB’s AB de Villiers, a pominent name in the middle order, finds a spot along with young Ishan Kishan. Rahul Tewatia is the lone genuine allrounder in Moody’s pick. The bowling department will be led by purple cap holder Kagiso Rabada. Jofra Archer and Jasprit Bumrah complete the pace trio, while Yuzvendra Chahal and Rashid Khan will accompany Tewatia with their spin.

Here’s a look at Moody’s XI and Their Franchise:
Delhi Capitals: Shikhar Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada,
Kings XI Punjab: KL Rahul,
Mumbai Indians: Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Jasprit Bumrah
Royal Challengers Bangalore: AB de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal,
Rajasthan Royals: Rahul Tewatia, Jofra Archer
Sunrisers Hyderabad: Rashid Khan
