KKR star batter Venkatesh Iyer smashed a breathtaking ton in the KKR vs MI IPL 2023 game on April 16. After Iyer’s brilliant hundred, a tweet has gone viral in which a fan had made a bold prediction that Venkatesh Iyer was going to score his maiden IPL hundred hours before the game started.
Venkatesh Iyer smoked a hundred off just 49 deliveries and eventually scored a 51-ball hundred against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. The star batter single-handedly took his side’s total to 185-6 as none other KKR batter could score freely on a tricky Mumbai wicket.

Just after Venkatesh Iyer scored his hundred, the bold prediction went viral across social media platforms. The Twitter user was hailed for his accurate prediction by other netizens and cricket fans while some of them comparing him with the famous Paul the Octopus.
Venkatesh Iyer batted as a lone warrior against Mumbai Indians bowlers as he kept losing partners from the other end. The Wankhede wicket had some help for the spinners which was exploited by Piyush Chawla and Hrithik Shokeen to trouble the KKR batters.
On the other hand, the left-handed batter looked pretty comfortable right from the word go and kept playing his shots both against the pacers and spinners. He went to smash his fifty in just 23 deliveries and carried on with his shots right through the innings and specifically targeted Riley Meredith and Duan Jansen.

On the fourth delivery of the 17th over, Venkatesh Iyer got a single off Duan Jansen as he reached his hundred in just 49 deliveries. Iyer became the first KKR batter since Brendon McCullum to score a hundred in IPL who had scored a ton in the inaugural game of IPL 2008. His stellar knock in the KKR vs MI game included 6 fours and 9 maximums.
