Team India kick-started their tour on an emphatic note by beating the West Indies cricket team by 1-0 in the two-match Test series. Rohit Sharma and Co embarked on the third edition of the World Test Championship with a surreal win over the Caribbeans in the Test opener in Dominica. They won the game by an innings and 141 runs and deservedly took the first lead in the series.

West Indies did put some good fight in the second Test in Trinidad but at the same time, received some help from the rain. The second Test was extended till the final day but the rain spoiled the party as both teams shared a point apiece for a draw. India would be disappointed with the result whereas the Caribbeans breathed a sigh of relief as they just steered clear of a whitewash.

Meanwhile, the cricketing action shifts to the WI vs IND 2023 ODI series. The first of the three-match ODI series is just a couple of days away from getting underway. The ODI opener will go all guns blazing on July 27, Thursday at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma aim to create records in WI vs IND 2023 ODI series

Meanwhile, India’s senior cricketers namely, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are eyeing milestones in the upcoming WI vs IND 2023 ODI series. Virat Kohli is currently the leading run-scorer in One Day Internationals among the active players. He mustered 12,898 runs at a mind-blowing batting average of 57.32.

Notably, he smashed 46 centuries and 65 half-centuries in the 50-over format. The veteran cricketer is 102 runs away from completing 13,000 runs in ODIs and the run-machine will be looking to score a century in the upcoming game to achieve the landmark.

On the other end of the spectrum, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma scored 9825 runs in 236 ODI innings at a spectacular batting average of 48.6 including 30 centuries, 48 half-centuries and 3 double centuries. He is 175 runs away from completing 10,000 runs in the 50-over format.

Virat Kohli is the fastest to reach 10,000 ODI runs having taken only 205 innings to reach the milestone. Rohit Sharma can’t break Kohli’s record as has already surpassed 205 innings but he can surpass Sachin who is currently sitting in second position with 259 innings.
