Virat Kohli dedicates fifty to his daughter Vamika; wife Anushka Sharma applauds

Virat Kohli performed the 'cradle' celebration after reaching his half-century at the Newlands.

Suffering a whitewash at the hands of the Proteas, India’s tour of South Africa ended on a bad note for the visitors. While the series was already lost, India failed to impress their fans in the third ODI of the recently-concluded series.

However, Virat Kohli’s half-century came as a silver lining. The former India skipper has not looked his usual self for quite some time but the series against South Africa witnessed the right-handed batsman regaining back his form.

After Kohli crossed the 50-run mark, he dedicated the hard-fought knock to his daughter Vamika. While Kohli and his wife Anushka has kept Vamika away from the limelight, camera panned over her face on this occasion as she was seen cheering for her father from the stands.

As Anushka holded Vamika in her arms, Kohli performed the ‘cradle’ celebration and gestured towards the stands where his family was present.

With Vamika’s face now publicly revealed by the broadcaster SuperSport, fans remain divided, considering Virat and Anushka have earlier requested to the media about their daughter’s privacy.

Kohli could not complete his 71st century as his innings ended at the score of 65. Wickets tumbled after his dismissal as India’s middle-order again failed to deliver under pressure.

Suryakumar Yadav played a handy 39-run knock but it was Deepak Chahar’s blistering innings that took India close to the total of the opposition. At one stage, the visitors needed 10 to win off 18 deliveries with three wickets in hand but a false shot from Chahar ended the side’s hope of winning the dead rubber.
