Leading media house Times of India published a report on August 15 which claimed that star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is keen on having a cricket pitch at his lavish farmhouse in Alibaug. However, Virat didn’t take much time to slam the reports and criticised the media house for publishing ‘Fake News’.

TOI had reported quoting the daily newspaper Mid-Day, that Kohli was keen to have a cricket pitch on his Alibaug property.

“Fake news chaapne lage…” : Virat Kohli on Times of India’s report

On August 15, Virat shared a screenshot of the news report published by Times of India on his Instagram story.

“Bachpan se jo akhbaar Padha hai, wo bhi fake news chaapne lage ab (The newspaper that we are reading since childhood is also publishing fake news these days),” Virat Kohli wrote on his Instagram story.

According to a previous report, Virat had bought his second property in Alibaug last year. He had paid a stamp duty of INR 36 lakh for the transaction of his 2,000 sq ft villa in Alibaug that cost him INR 6 crore.

It’s worth noting that Virat Kohli had recently broken his silence on another fake news about his social media earnings in which it was claimed that he was earning INR 11.5 crore per Instagram post. “While I am grateful and indebted to all that I’ve received in life, the news that has been making rounds about my social media earnings is not true,” he had stated.

Meanwhile, Virat was recently seen in action during Team India’s West Indies tour. He played crucial knocks in two Test matches, smashing a half-century in the first game and a century in the second game. However, He didn’t get an opportunity to bat in the ODI series.

The Indian team management is keenly focusing on the workload management of their key players and hence Virat wasn’t a part of the T20I series against West Indies and won’t feature in the series against Ireland as well.

He will now be seen in action during the Asia Cup 2023 which will begin on August 30. The star batter will be keen to continue his form in the tournament.
