Star RCB batter Virat Kohli got involved in a verbal banter with LSG team mentor Gautam Gambhir during the RCB vs LSG clash on May 1. After the banter, Virat was seen taking an epic dig at Gambhir in an RCB dressing room video which went viral on social media.
Virat Kohli was pretty aggressive and animated in his celebrations during the game against Lucknow Super Giants. He was also getting great support from the Lucknow crowd despite RCB being the away team. LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir had got animated after their last-ball win against RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium and Virat was probably giving it back to Gambhir.
If you can give it, you got to take it: Virat Kohli
After the crucial victory over the KL Rahul-led side, Royal Challengers Bangalore shared a video from inside the dressing room on their Twitter account. In the video posted by RCB, Virat Kohli can be seen taking an apparent dig at Gautam Gambhir.
“That’s a sweet win boys! sweet win, Let’s Go! If you can give it, you got to take it. Otherwise don’t give it,” Kohli is heard saying in the dressing room video shared on RCB’s official Twitter handle as he clearly looked ecstatic after the victory.
“It is a really important win on the road for us. The fact that we got more support than the home team was a really unbelievable feeling. It tells you all about how much we are liked as a team and how much the fans like us,” Kohli said after the game against LSG in the RCB video.

After the game, while the players were shaking hands, there seemed to be words exchanged between LSG bowler Naveen-ul-Haq and Virat Kohli. This was followed by Gambhir pulling away his side’s opening batter Kyle Mayers from a chat with Kohli.
LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir was then seen approaching aggressively towards Virat. KL Rahul and Amit Mishra did try restraining him but couldn’t do so as Virat and Gambhir got involved in verbal banter.
While Royal Challengers Bangalore did manage to defend a below-par total of 126 runs, Virat had seemed extra animated throughout the fielding innings. Kohli was also seen gesturing toward the crowd after taking a catch to dismiss LSG stand-in skipper Krunal Pandya, possibly in response to Gautam Gambhir’s gestures during the first RCB vs LSG IPL 2023 game on April 11.
