Gujarat Titans defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 56 runs in the IPL 2023 game on May 7 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Virat Kohli applauded a couple of individual performances from Gujarat Titans’ players on his Instagram Stories which sparked hilarious reactions from cricket fans on social media.

Virat Kohli got involved in a verbal banter with LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir and pacer Naveen ul Haq during the RCB vs LSG clash on May 1 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Cricket fans believe Virat Kohli was supporting Gujarat Titans against Lucknow Super Giants as he had taken the verbal confrontation personally.

The star RCB batter praised Wriddhiman Saha for his 81-run knockoff just 43 balls. “What a player @wriddhi,” Virat Kohli wrote on his Instagram story.

He then hailed Rashid Khan’s diving catch to get rid off Kyle Mayers. “One of the best catches I’ve ever seen. Brilliant @rashid.khan19,” he wrote during Lucknow Super Giants’ innings.

Netizens were quick to understand that it was the dislike for LSG which inspired him to support Gujarat Titans in the game against Gautam Gambhir’s team. Virat Kohli’s Instagram stories then sparked a hilarious memefest on the social media.

One of the Twitter users said that he was literally giving, “LSG downfall, ‘I’ll be there no matter what‘” vibes. Another social media user wrote, “Virat Kohli Is In No Mood To Let Go Off On Anything Against This LSG Rivalry.”

Talking about the game, Gujarat Titans posted a mammoth total of 227-2 in their 20 overs courtesy of brilliant knocks by their openers Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill. Saha played a brutal knock of 81 runs off 43 balls including 10 fours and 4 maximums.

Shubman Gill remained unbeaten till the end and scored 94 runs off only 51 deliveries including 2 fours and 7 sixes. GT skipper Hardik Pandya too chipped in with a quick-fire 25 as none of the LSG bowlers could create an impact on the game.

In response to the huge total set by Gujarat Titans, the LSG side got off to a flying start courtesy of their openers Kyle Mayers and Quinton de Kock who scored 48 and 70 respectively. However, the LSG middle order failed miserably as they eventually fell short by 56 runs in the GT vs LSG game.
