AB de Villiers confirms that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child.

Virat Kohli citing personal reasons for his absence from the first two Test matches against England had left fans in speculation. However, AB de Villiers has now refuted all those rumors by disclosing the real reason.

Virat Kohli’s second baby is on the way, revealed AB de Villiers

During a live session on his YouTube channel, AB de Villiers answered fans’ questions. One of Virat Kohli’s fans inquired about the Indian cricketer, asking, “Hi AB sir, did you speak to Virat? Is he fine? Will he be back for the next 3 Tests? India needs him, and his fans are waiting for his return?”

AB de Villiers replied to the fan, saying, “All I know is he is fine. He is spending a bit of time with his family, that is the reason he is missing the first two Test matches. I am not going to confirm anything else. I cannot wait to see him back. He is fine, he is happy,”

Further in the video, AB de Villiers revealed that Virat and Anushka are expecting their 2nd child. Speculations were circulating about Anushka being pregnant once again, but the couple had not made the news official. Now, the former South Africa captain has confirmed the news.

“His second child is on the way. Yes, it’s family time and things are important to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people’s priority is family. You can’t judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him, but he has made the right decision,” AB de Villiers added.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has yet to announce the squad for the remaining three matches of the five-match series. It is not confirmed whether Virat Kohli is available for selection or not. Virat Kohli welcomed his first child, daughter Vamika, in January 2021, and during that time, he had also missed Tests in Australia on paternity leave.
