Gilchrist looked impressed with Virat Kohli after his heroics vs PAK

Virat Kohli was practicing with the Indian Team at the Sydney Cricket Ground on the morning before India’s second game in the World Cup against the Netherlands.

The run-machine was having a conversation with former South African pacer Dale Steyn who was his ex-teammate at Royal Challengers Bangalore. Just as Gilchrist saw Virat he came to meet him as he looked really pumped up.

Gilchrist gave him a powerful handshake as he praised Virat for his heroic knock against Pakistan that changed the fortune of Team India. The former Aussie also patted Kohli’s shoulder as he looked in complete awe at the mighty batter.

Adam Gilchrist shared a quick few words of praise and wished him well for the game against the Netherlands. Dale Steyn too gave Virat a handshake and wished him for the future games.

The legendary wicketkeeper batter Gilchrist has always been a key supporter of Virat Kohli. Earlier this year, when there was a constant debate about dropping Virat over his prolonged lean patch, Gilly was in complete support of Virat as he said, “it will be dangerous to drop Virat Kohli from the team at this moment and India should have the star batter for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022.”

It’s worth noting that Virat Kohli was not looking in his prime touch for quite some time. The former India captain scored his 71st century after nearly three years in the Super Four Game of Asia Cup 2022 against Afghanistan.

Right since the beginning of the Asia Cup, Virat has looked at his best again as he played a couple of vital knocks against Asian teams and then carried on his form against Pakistan as he took the game away from them at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
